The Lighthouse

by Kayte

Max has been interested in storytelling lately – he tells us the story, and we write down the words. This story was inspired by backyard camping and a book we are reading about a lighthouse. Max even wrote his own name at the end!

Have you heard of Rory’s Story Cubes? They come in packs (either general or specific like Batman/medical/sports) and you roll a handful of them and then make up a story featuring the pictures on each dice. E.g. it might land on fire, wine glass, money, rain, lighthouse, bicycle, monkey, house and phone. So you tell a story about a monkey who lives in a house far far away, who went out on his bike one day for an adventure. He got lost, and with no money or phone to call home, he kept cycling looking for help. He tried to light a fire but it started to rain and so the fire went out. He decided to keep on walking and found a lighthouse, where the lighthouse keeper took him in and gave him dinner and a drink. The End 🙂
